But he was home
My graduation film made on completion of my MA in filmmaking was a documentary that gave insight into a moment in time when my friend Elliot travelled to Florida to receive Top surgery with the support of his girlfriend and Evangelical Christian Mother. It is a story about identity, unconditional love and the family we choose.
Summary
Elliot and his girlfriend Charlotte travelled to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in anticipation for Elliot’s impending Top surgery. The couple were joined by Elliot’s mother Daphne who had mixed feelings about the operation. We explore the group’s personal experiences and relationship dynamics during the 10 days around the surgery. It was a real privilege to shoot this film on such an important issue with such an incredible group.
